Cal's Birthday Party!

On Saturday, April 4th, we celebrated Cal's 1st Birthday (born April 3rd). Both sides of the family were here and we had a good time. Cal enjoyed his frog cake and all of his new presents. The weather was perfect, Cal had a great day, and Rylie, Berkley, and Piper all spent the night.

Coach Teague & the Buffalo Bulls Softball Team

Today, we went to Ball State University to watch Coach Teague and her Buffalo Bulls squad take on the BSU Cardinals. The temps were frigid, the wind was awful, and the Bulls lost 4-2 and 5-2 in a double-header. However, getting a chance to watch Teague's team play and to visit with her was well worth the drive to Muncie.

Beth and Jenny's Play Date

Today, Jenny and Amy Kretz prepared for the mini-marathon with a 5 mile run at 7 a.m. Ryan conducted the last session of his kid's clinic at 9 a.m. Avery played his last soccer game at 10 a.m. Beth Demorest and her kids (Kailey, Gabe, and Josiah) came by for a spaghetti lunch and fun and games in the house and in the yard. Rhett had his last soccer game at 5 p.m., and we cleaned around the house in the eveneing. It was a fun and eventful day.

(Please note...I took all the photos you will see on this post...EXCEPT for the pic of Rhett and Gabe on the tree together. Jenny took that picture. I think she was taking a picture of a tree limb, and Rhett and Gabe happened to get in the way!)

Hanging Around the House

On Wednesday, March 4th, we played in the drive way, watched the "Gummy Bear Song" on the internet, the boys tried on their Northwestern batting helmet, and we all enjoyed the beautiful sunset. The weather is getting warmer and Spring is around the corner.

Erin's Wedding

February 14th...we attended our niece's wedding in Ft. Wayne. Rhett and Avery could NOT stay off the dance floor and cut the rug for nearly 2 hours. Rhett broke out his best dance moves...the robot, shark, rump shaker, the animal, and his infamous "80s band" leg guitar. Avery turned to his booty shake up dance, and flash dance moves to earn the respect of the dance floor. At the end of the night, Rhett stole the show as he danced to his requested song of, "Stacey's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne. Swelling with pride because his song was playing, Rhett commanded the dance floor with everyone encircling him, and he used his plethora of moves to woo the crowd, then finished with a break dancing spin on the floor as he received an ovation from on-lookers. I am 100% serious about this. Rhett is so shy and easily embarrassed, but when it comes to dancing, the boy has confidence!

Flood

This week, due to 60 degree temps, 8 inches of snow melt, and 4 inches of rain, the creek flooded and over took our dock, fire pit, and picnic grill.
